The vibrant Cape Verde Islands are located in the Atlantic Ocean some 450km to the west of Senegal and share the same latitude as Barbados. A unique and enchanting Creole way of life that firmly embraces both their Latin and West African roots has developed over the past five and a half centuries since it was discovered by Portuguese explorers. Blessed with an average annual temperature of between 22 and 26 degrees centigrade, Cape Verde offers between 10 to 12 hours of daily sunshine throughout most of the year. With only 5½ hours flight time from the UK, this fast developing archipelago now represents the closest tropical island destination to Europe and only 1 hour behind GMT, so no jet lag.

Sambala Village represents the 1st phase of the Sambala Resort and occupies a 47 acre parcel of land within the main resort area. This phase will become the heart of the resort community and will incorporate the restaurant, bars, shops and other amenities on the plateau above the beach at Sao Francisco Bay.
